Nostrum Biodiscovery
Nostrum Biodiscovery is a computational drug discovery start-up at the forefront of molecular design. As their Head of Visual Communication for three years, I was responsible for redefining the company’s brand identity and ensuring visual consistency across all channels. From evolving the logo to designing brochures, technical documentation, and investor materials, I built a communication system that combined scientific clarity with professional credibility.

Challenge
Nostrum needed an identity that would inspire trust in the scientific community while projecting clarity and professionalism for international collaborations. As their Head of Visual Communication, I had to design a system that worked seamlessly across technical, investor, and scientific communication — from research reports to conference booths — without losing brand consistency.




Explorations
Working within Nostrum’s early identity, I explored visual directions that could evolve the brand beyond its dated teal and heavy logo. Initial treatments adapted existing imagery into bluish green tones to respect the legacy palette, followed by brighter teals and dynamic gradients to add energy and modernity.




Solution
The identity then evolved toward cleaner treatments — white and grayscale photography paired with teal accents — which proved more sophisticated and versatile. These refinements shaped the foundation for the modernized logo and the broader brand system.





Applications
Over the years years, I applied Nostrum’s modernized identity across all key communication tools. From scientific presentations and technical sheets to brochures, business cards, and digital platforms, the brand system ensured consistency and professionalism at every touchpoint. Bright teal accents, black-and-white imagery, and clear layouts brought clarity to complex content while reinforcing credibility with pharma partners, investors, and the wider scientific community.
